Hooray for Books! in Congressional Record

Not every children’s bookstore gets mentioned in the Congressional Record, so we’re very excited that Hooray for Books! appeared in the proceedings and debates of the 111th Congress, first session, on May 6, 2009! Congressman Jim Moran included us in his announcement supporting the US Patent and Trademark Office’s National Trademark Expo, which was held this past Friday and Saturday at the USPTO’s headquarters here in Alexandria.

Thanks to one of our terrific customers, we were invited to provide story times featuring the literary trademarked characters Maisy®, Curious George®, Peter Rabbit®, the Cat in the Hat® and Thomas the engine from Thomas & Friends®. On Friday, Alexandria’s Poet Laureate, Mary McElveen, helped out, too, by giving a stellar story time to a group preschoolers. I think a wonderful time was had by all!
