June 20th is quickly approaching and the staff here at Hooray for Books cannot wait to celebrate our very first birthday! In honor of this mile-marker we will party the day away with an extra special birthday storytime, honored guests, and many cries of “Hooray!” From 10 am to 6 pm, Hooray for Books will provide fun for the whole family with games, face painting, balloons, raffles, a guest appearance from Winnie-the-Pooh himself, a book launching by author Fran Cannon Slayton, and presentations from successful local authors Kristin Levine and Pat Richards. We are also excited to welcome our Old Town friends, Whistle Stop Hobbies, to join us all day long in celebrating trains and just how far we have come! Come check out their awesome steam engine and other cool bells and whistles! And did we mention that all events are free?
